About Us
Tunstall Smith King, Consulting Structural & Civil Engineers, is a niche practice formed in 2016 out of a desire to focus on creating a reliable, forward thinking practice with an emphasis on innovative, creative and efficient designs. Based in Nottingham in the heart of the Midlands we are ideally situated to serve the length and breadth of the UK.
Our services include all aspects of structural and civil engineering design together with the environmental engineering requirements such as Site Investigations, Flood Risk Assessments and Traffic and Transportation reporting. Our current portfolio of work includes large residential and mixed use multi storey developments, leisure and community projects including hotels and leisure facilities, industrial developments for the food, pharmaceutical and energy from waste sectors together with a client base including private developers, local authorities, sports and social organisations, education stakeholders, Architects and leading international charity organisations.

Our Approach
The practice operates with the Directors taking an active role in all projects. This results in good communication and teamwork, with cross-fertilisation of ideas and experience. By questioning the desired approach to a project we are able to identify problem areas at an early stage of the design and offer innovative and cost effective solutions to the client.
Our strong passion for innovation and creativity never fails to bring added value to a scheme. We embark on each project in an energetic, collaborative and proactive manner. The practice prides itself on delivering efficient, carefully-considered designs. The practice provides a complete range of consultancy services to all sectors of the construction industry.
Our Experience
Our team of engineers and Directors have significant experience in all sectors of the construction industry with particular expertise in the residential, student accommodation, mixed use and leisure sectors with project values in excess of £45million. Our experience within the industrial sector including food, pharmaceutical and energy from waste divisions have led to repeat business from some of the UK’s leading contractors due to our knowledge of working on live sensitive sites which require detailed phasing of the construction process.
The team also has considerable experience working within the education sector in previous employment, responsible for schemes under the BSF Programme, the EFA Framework and working closely with privately funded schools. Between the members of our team we have successfully delivered 30 primary, secondary and college projects.
