Project Description

A new state of the art sports and community hub in the heart of Newark.

Delivering high quality family-orientated activities resides at the heart of the project, with adventure sports and activities including everything from mountain biking and climbing walls to pottery and cooking.

Plans also incorporate an alternative education programme using onsite facilities to promote life and independence skills for learners currently not engaged or at the fringes of becoming NEET (Not Employed, in Education or Training). The programme will include a host of activities drawing on expertise and experience from across the YMCA team.

Indoor facilities include a community café, climbing wall, arts and dance area, music area, nursery, creche, and before and after-school provision.

In addition to the creation of a cycling track, the community will benefit from multi-use all-weather sports pitches, five-a-side pitches, a skate park, a stadium football pitch and a six-lane full-size athletics track endorsed by England Athletics.
